本種は北海道から本州に広く分布するが、本州では山地に見られる。寄主植物は主にハンノキ属やカバノキ属などのカバノキ科の葉。海外ではヨーロッパに分布している。

This species is widely distributed from Hokkaido to Honshu, Japan, but it occurs on the mountainous areas in Honshu. It mainly breeds on the leaves of Betulaceae such as the genera Alnus and Betula. It is also distributed in Europe.
